The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections Observation and Assessment facility, located in Nampa, Idaho, provides for the observation and assessment of sentenced juveniles. The facility houses up to 24 juveniles for two to three week evaluation periods in a secure and controlled environment. The evaluation period allows officials to determine incarceration levels for the offending juveniles. Phase I was completed in 1998. Phase II, completed in 2001, included a new two-tier housing wing, central control, classroom, intake, and health areas.
